National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS)

What is NRAS?

The National Rental Affordability Scheme is a rental program that provides affordable rentals at a minimum 20% discount from the typical market rent for the property. Properties must be rented to eligible tenants at a discount rate from the typical market rent and in doing so, an annual payment is provided to property owners.

RHL currently manages a number of NRAS properties throughout Bundaberg and Hervey Bay (See our NRAS vacancies page for available NRAS properties).

How to apply:

STEP 1: Ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria set down by the Government for participation in the scheme. To do this you will need to complete the Government online registration and eligibility check .

STEP 2: complete the RHL Application for Residential Tenancy form available from our office and linked below.

To complete your application you will also need to provide the following information:

  • ID for each adult on the application (Copies of Birth Certificates, Drivers License, Medicare Card, Concession Card, Passport)
  • Proof of Income – 6 current payslips
  • Rental References
  • 6 current rent receipts and/or rent ledger
  • Proof of registration and approval from the Department of Public Works
  • Recent bank statement
  • Centrelink Income Statement if applicable
