Judy Peters’ community work recognised with OAM
Regional Housing Limited Secretary Judy Peters has been recognised for her outstanding commitment to the Bundaberg community and local government with an Order of Australia Medal at this year’s Australia Day Awards.
Judy, who was appointed to the Board of RHL in 2013 and has been Secretary for four years, said of the award: “I am overwhelmed and privileged to be a part of some incredible organisations that value-add to this community. Whether housing or health related or sport and cultural excellence – each is vital and complement the social foundations for the future.”
Heavily involved in the community throughout her time as a former councillor, Judy retired from her role at Bundaberg Regional Council in 2020 after 26 years. Along with her Director and Secretary roles with RHL, Judy continues to work with a range of community organisations including BUSHkids, Bundaberg Pensioners League, Bingera Football Club, and Playhouse Theatre.
The entire RHL team, management and Board extends a heartfelt congratulations to Judy on this prestigious recognition of her dedication to the community. We are forever enriched as an organisation and a community through the knowledge, experience and time Judy generously contributes.
